Winter Prep Sign-ups

Hello McAuliffe Families!

Sign-ups for the winter  prep league athletic season are open and close on Friday, December 6th at 6pm.  Below, you will find the information you need to sign-up. This next season, we will be offering girls and boys volleyball. We have one team for each sport for grades 6-8. Due to the popularity of volleyball, there are only 50 spots open for 6th graders, first come first serve. I apologize for the length of this communication, but please read this in its entirety, it has a ton of important information.  

To tryout, parents/guardians will need to:

  1. Complete the registration in Arbiter – this is new, and all families MUST register here

  1. You will complete everything within Arbiter – upload your athletes physical, and complete payment. 
    • If your child doesn’t make a team, you will receive a refund 
  2. You must submit your completed registration with your student’s valid physical and payment for your student to be on the tryout list, they can’t participate until these have been uploaded and registration has been completed. You will receive a confirmation email from Arbiter once you submit the registration.

The deadline to register for Winter Prep Sports is Friday, December 6th  at 6:00pm. There are no exceptions to the deadline as registration will close in Arbiter. I will be sending emails on Saturday, December 7th regarding tryouts and information to everyone who has completed registration by 6:00pm on Friday, December 6th. Emails will go to the parent/guardian emails you submit within Arbiter. 

Tryout Dates/Practice Info: 

  • Girls Volleyball  – Check-in will take place in the North Gym – 4:25 – 5:55
    • Tues – 12/10 – 7th Grade Only – Cuts will be made
    • Weds – 12/11 – 6th Grade Only – Cuts will be made
    • Thurs – 12/12 – 8th Grade Only – Cuts will be made 
    • Weds – 12/18 – 6-8 Callbacks – Cuts will be made and Final Roster will be posted
  • Boys Volleyball – Check-in will take place in the North Gym – 4:25 – 5:55
    • Mon – 12/9 – 6th-8th Grade – Cuts will be made
    • Mon or Tues – 12/16 or 12/17 –  6-8 Callbacks – Cuts will be made and Final Roster will be posted. The final date for boys will be released by Tuesday, 12/10

Due to the mass influx of emails, I don’t send confirmation emails for registration or physicals. I apologize for the inconvenience, I just don’t have the time. You will get a registration confirmation email from Arbiter when you submit the registration with the physical and payment. If I am missing something I will reach out to you. All of this information is on the McAuliffe Athletics Website.

Tryouts for winter sports are competitive. Coaches will be selecting players based on their skill level. Cuts will be made at the discretion of the coaching staff. I will also be reviewing all students’ academic standings prior to tryouts. If your student has seven or more missing assignments, they are ineligible to play. We will let them try out, but that information will be provided to the coaches, and will be an automatic cut. Your player must attend each day of their scheduled day of tryouts to be considered for the team. The exception to this is if your player received approval from the coach in advance of the tryouts. A no show on the scheduled tryout day is an automatic cut.
