I am thrilled to be a part of the MIS community this year! I grew up in Littleton, CO and received my B.A. in Creative Writing and Sociology from University of Denver. I then earned my M.A. in Curriculum and Instruction with a specialization in Gifted Education from DU, as well as licensure in 6-12 English Language Arts and K-12 Gifted Education (I plan to earn my Social Studies endorsement this summer!). I taught 7th and 8th grade Language Arts in the past, and I’m excited to join 8th grade once again this year.
Education is my livelihood; thus I am also a forever student. I intend to pursue advanced degrees in Education (specifically curriculum design and policy research) and English in the future. Some of my hobbies include writing poetry and reading any books that peak my interest. As I am teaching English, I am obligated to say The Great Gatsby is my all-time favorite book. When I am not teaching, one could find me drinking Starbucks Cold Brew, eating sushi, shopping for sweaters, or spending time with my family.
