I grew up in rural Arkansas, and many of my earliest memories involved exploring the world around me through a lens of inquiry and exploration, learning a lifelong love of Science. I earned a B.A. in Biochemistry/Molecular Biology from Hendrix College, and then a Masters degree from Vanderbilt University in Biomedical Research. My time working as a scientist researching frog development at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN made my dreams of being a scientists come true, but ultimately lead me to fall in love with teaching. After 3 years of teaching 7th grade Science, I am excited to step into the 6th grade Engineering position, and teach all students the critical thinking skills they need to solve problems of the future. When I am not in the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my husband and two pugs (Doug & Scout) exploring our new town and the beautiful expanses of nature that surround Denver.
