Hello! I have been an English Language Arts teacher for over eleven years now. I am passionate about reading, writing, and I can’t wait to indulge in great discussions with my new students this year!
I am a born and raised East Tennessee native. I grew up and went to college just outside of Knoxville, TN in a small town called Lenoir City. I am a graduate of Maryville College with a B.A.  and Middle Tennessee State University with a Masters. My husband (Neil), my two sons (Clark and Beckett), and our dog (Scout) are so excited to take on a new adventure in a new part of the country. We fell in love with the Denver area many years ago, and we want to raise our children in the beauty of the Rockies. We are huge sports fans in our house! We watch a lot of hockey, baseball, football, and soccer! We can’t wait to experience the rich culture of Denver and become Denver fans in every sport.
I am currently pursuing my EdS in Curriculum and Instructional Leadership through MTSU, and I can’t wait to use my education to help me be better for my students. I taught 7th and 8th grade for five years in a rural school in East Tennessee and then taught high school at my alma mater for six years. As much as I adore my roots and where I’ve lived my whole life, I am anxiously waiting to be the newcomer and learn from my peers. I am genuinely thrilled to be a part of McAuliffe International, and I can’t wait to meet my new school family and students. This is going to be a great year!
